|
|
At certain times of the day, photos (or fotos?) are extremely slow to load. I am assuming that the Fotopages servers are simply being overwhelmed more at some times than other times by requests for page views.
I use a T-1 connection at work, and DSL at home, so my physical Internet connection is not a problem. I have tested that theory by visiting other high-bandwidth sites when I see slow responses from Fotopages.
Does Fotopages Admin have any advice as to which times of day (for me, Eastern Standard Time) are better than others to enjoy reasonable download times?
Thanks!

I've noticed that too. some people's fotopages take about a day to load. others don't load at all. It's different depending on what time of day it is. I have a cable modem. _________________ http://kbgirl.fotopages.com |

hmm...
We haven't noticed that problem yet, but if you see it, it is there.
Can you try to identify what times you see this slowness problem? _________________ If you need help, you are in the right place

I have also noticed this slowness. It started at the beginning of the week as far as I can tell. The whole site is EXTREMELY slow. Half the time pages don't load for me at all and if they do I just get blank boxes with no pictures.
It is not just one fotopage over another, basically it is the whole site. I have not uploaded any pictures during this time so I do not know if that is being affected too. I haven't been logging in lately as it is too frustrating to wait. The community page took awhile to load but when I went to make a reply it loaded up well.
I have a broadband connection also and have checked other websites when Fotopages is sluggish. The other websites are fine.
Hopefully this issue can be found promptly and dealt with accordingly. Not a good time for this to be happening if you are wanting to launch the new site and have people pay for a premium service. _________________ http://judababy.fotopages.com |

We are monitoring internal servers load and usage and have seen no varations indicating internal change of the system's performance/behavior.
However there are external factors (such as bandwodth/hosting factors) that are in most cases are not in Fotopages immediate control and in many times can not be measured internally (from Fotopages. but only from the outside).
We will keep monitoring these factors and add more external checks to see what is it that causes the slowness you see. If anyone detects any change, feel free to let us know.
We appriciate the help and feedback. _________________ If you need help, you are in the right place

We have recently fixed a compression problem which caused files to be oversized (and therefore made pages bigger in file-size).
We are still running a fixing batch on the remaining files which should end no laer than by the end of today (28/1/2004).
Please let us know if you experiense quicker page-load time.
Looking forward to your feedback. _________________ If you need help, you are in the right place

Not really a coincidence. The system is faster these days since we fixed the compression routines and image sizes. _________________ If you need help, you are in the right place
