Starting from 15-Sep-2005 00:01 GMT, Fotopages will start enforcing its policy dealing with adult materials.
Here are the guidelines..
Fotopages is not to be used for storing pornography of any kind.
For that purpose pornography is either commercial nudity (either privately owned/created and CERTAINLY stolen one), tasteless nudity or tasteless erotic fotos.
What is tasteless? Who's taste is to be used? - naturally the taste of the Fotopages team and support - which is not debatable.
How would you know if your Fotos are tasteless? If in doubt - there is no doubt.
Clarifications, for those who insist on us spelling it out:
* If you have a lot of girlfriends/ boyfriends and they all happen to like taking their clothes off - its tasteless
* If your life is very sensual so that every day you find a new girlfriend/boyfriend which happens to love sex in front of the camera- its tasteless
* If your fotopage contains nudity that is for the sake of nudity - it is tasteless
* If you like cars and happen to always have a naked girl/boy standing near the car exactly when you take the foto, it’s tasteless.
* IF you like football or horse racing and from time to time the girlfriends/boyfriends of famous football players or horse riders decide to model for playboy or any other newspaper or whatever.. and you feel obliged to post it.. its tasteless
 I hope its clear enough.
EXCEPTIONS:
* If you have an artistic fotopage and it happens to be adult in nature (again, we decide if its artistic. Philosophy, Literature, Poems, Painting/Drawing, ... is artistic. Nude foto collection is not art) - it is to be accepted. MAKE SURE you mark your fotopage as adult though - its in your profile's settings.
* If you have a fetish - although may be deemed as bizarre by some (or all)  - as long as there is no nudity or stolen content - it is acceptable. MAKE SURE you mark your fotopage as adult though - its in your profile's settings.
* If you have a non-nude fotopage and there is a world shattering related news event which happens to have nudity involved in - MAKE SURE ITS CENSORED when adding such fotos. If it happens more than once in the fotopage - MAKE SURE you mark your fotopage as adult though - its in your profile's settings.
If you have a legitimate fotopage (which 99.9% of you do) just make sure you do not have needless nudity in it. Go through your archive and delete such Fotos.
What if someone doesn't?
The repercussions will be one of the following:
1. If we feel it’s a minor misstep and the first one- we will delete the entire entry without prior notice. Maybe if it’s a super minor misstep, we will only delete the specific foto (but assume that we will delete the entire entry).
2. If its not a negligible misstep or a small one but not the first, we will either delete the entire fotopage and lock the account or if we have a very good day, just delete the entire fotopage without locking the account. (assume the first). Again - no prior notice.
3. If we have a bad day, assume we will not see any misstep as minor or negligible. 
Clarification: 99.9% of the fotopages here are perfectly ok. It probably includes yours (since statistically "you" are likely one of the 99.9%).
However, if it does not - either make sure you join the 99.9% by changing your Fotopage and help us bring that percentage to 100%... OR find another place for your Fotopage.
As for anyone who thinks it gives them the right to police Fotopages.. If you see a fotopage you which you undoubtedly think has nothing to do with art or taste, feel free to let us know. HOWEVER, do so in a liberal mind. If you don't like artistic nudity or any kind, let others be the ones that let us know because we believe that nudity in art does have a place – AGAIN, if marked in the profile as adult and does not appear on the index page or the browse section of the site.

dear admin
there are lots of unclad animals and naked flowers on my fotopage
what to do with them?
wipe them out or fotoshop some garments for their private parts?
in general i can agree with your policy -- though i think it is too strict (and outright idiot) to call any form of unclothed body 'adult' -- it somehow reminds me of my youth, way back in the 1950's.
i wish you lots of luck in cleaning the frontpage -- for i have to admit, that i am also not amused in being confronted with unwanted pics of people who are clumsily caught in the act; anyone who wants to see that kind of stuff, can visit that other quarter or half of the worldwide web.
if the users of a community behave like adults, you do not need that category any longer

Hi...
I think your stand on nudity is great and I like the way you set out really clear guidelines. I would just love to know whether there is a really really really really good reason that over the last few days I've been greeted by photos of very scantily glad buxom women in adverts for screensavers and such like when I'm logged into my account.
The google text ads are nice and discreet, these photo ads which are now appearing at the top of all the pages when I log in are not. Is this going to continue or is it a passing phase? Is there any way of stopping it?

graphic ads on Fotopages are not a temporary phase.
However, if you see an inappropriate ad, we would be more than glad if you sent us an email with the screen capture, so we can disable it. We have the ability to disable specific ads, so dont hesitate.

Hi again...
On October 31st 2005 I posted a query about the graphic ads, a few days later (if I remember correctly) I emailed one of the ones I have problems with to support and asked for help with how to capture the others as I didn't know how to do a screen capture.
It's now January 2006. I have had no response whatsoever at all and all the ads I don't like are still there. I've just got back from holiday, whilst checking up on other people's pages I've discovered I'm not the only one with a problem with these ads... screensavers, wallpapers, history clearers.
Do I really need to be greeted by half naked women when I'm on my fotopage? Or am I just being "oversensitive" because I'm female?
If these ads to continue to stick around then I'm leaving. I find them offensive.

| I agree with hfarmer. These ads are in extremely poor taste. I started a photo blog of my children for family and close friends. Half naked women beside our family photos are extremely innappropriate. Had I known when I joined, that they would be there I would have gone somewhere else. If they continue, I will have to do just that. |
